Indian Cricket Board set to terminate contracts of Shreyas Iyer and Ishan Kishan: Reports

India batters Ishan Kishan and Shreyas Iyer are going to be removed from Indian Cricket Board Central Contracts as they are not participating in Ranji Trophy matches.

India batters Ishan Kishan and Shreyas Iyer are going to be removed from Indian Cricket Board Central Contracts as they are not participating in Ranji Trophy matches. India batter Shreyas Iyer is placed in Grade B of the central contract which makes him earn Rs. 3 crore per year. While India wicket-keeper batter Ishan Kishan is placed in grade C which makes him earn Rs. 1 crore.

“Ajit Agarkar-led selection committee has finalized the contracts for the 2023-24 season. Shreyas Iyer and Ishan Kishan are likely to be excluded as they refused to play domestic cricket despite Indian Cricket Board instructions,” a source was quoted as saying by Times of India.

As per reports Indian Cricket Borad has made a new list for players contract after Shreyas Iyer and Ishan Kishan are going to lose their spot after refusing to play Ranji Trophy games. Since India tour of South Africa Ishan Kishan hasn’t played a match for India. He left the series in mid-way as he reported mental fatigue.

Shreyas Iyer faked his injury to miss Ranji Trophy match.

Earlier Ishan Kishan was seen practicing in Baroda with Mumbai Indian’s captain Hardik Pandya for IPL 2024. Ishan Kishan didn’t show up for Jharkhand Ranji Trophy matches.

While Shreyas Iyer has been dropped from the squad in the ongoing Test series against England. Shreyas Iyer is been struggling to find his form with his bat. So far, he scored 104 runs in first two Test matches. Later he reported he had back spasm while doing forward defence as a result he was send to National Cricket Academy (NCA) for medical test. Later NCA mailed Indian Cricket Board about his medical situation. It stated that he is fit and fine. As per various reports Shreyas Iyer faked his injury to miss Ranji Trophy match.

Earlier Indian Cricket Board secretary Jay Shah issued a warning that players for are not playing for India should play Ranji Trophy matches before IPL.
